The Callaway X Prototype irons are precision forged from 1020 Carbon Steel to provide unmatched feel and performance, giving elite-level golfers incredibly soft, responsive feedback at impact.
Styled around the specific needs of tour players! A stunning 'White Chrome' finish delivers the preferred aesthetics for the most accomplished players, with a very thin topline, narrow sole and shorter blade length for maximum workability in various turf conditions.
The centre of gravity has been precisely positioned in each iron for optimal trajectories, ball flight, and distance control that Tour players demand with seamless performance progression through the entire set.
The X-Muscle design gives a consistent trajectory and maximum playability in a blade design.

FT IRONS 4-SW-£749

Callaway have redesigned their awesome FT Irons for 2008 to appeal to better players.
Standard Shaft: Nippon NS Pro 1100
With less offset, a thinner top line and a higher toe the Callaway FT irons have a much more traditional look without losing any forgiveness. This has been achieved by moving 80% of the club head's weight to the perimeter for outstanding forgiveness.
New Head Shape – Designed to appeal to accomplished players, the thinner topline, higher toe and slightly less offset produce a more traditional look.
Tunite Cradle – The high density, proprietary alloy allows Callaway Golf engineers to move an astounding 80 percent of the clubhead’s total weight to the extreme perimeter, creating a higher MOI for outstanding stability and forgiveness. The Tunite Cradle, made of a high-density proprietary alloy, plus Lightweight Hot Titanium Face and TPU SenSert cavity-back insert combine to create a powerful, forgiving and solid feeling iron.
Lightweight Hot Titanium Face – Produces fast ball speeds and allows more weight to be moved to the perimeter for better forgiveness and an increased effective hitting area.
TPU SenSert – A cavity-back insert composed of a chemically engineered thermoplastic urethane that decreases vibration, creating an incredibly solid feel. Modified Tru-Bore – An advanced version of the original Tru-Bore design, the polycarbonate tip plug at the end of the shaft dampens vibration for enhanced feel and performance.

Dual Notch Weighting
Placing weight on the top and bottom of the cavity allows for the Flighted CG Design. By progressively adjusting the notch weighting through the set, it strategically adds more weight to shorter irons and removes weight from longer irons to produce strong, penetrating trajectories.
Flighted CG Design
Provides the optimal trajectories, ball flight, and distance control that Tour players demand with seamless performance progression through the entire set.

Maximized Distance
A lower, deeper CG is designed to make the sweet spot more accessible at lower impact locations. This generates longer, more consistent distance and improves accuracy for more greens in regulation.

Get more distance through the entire bag by opting for matched hybrids in the set where you begin to struggle with your irons.
Solid Impact Sole
Delivering smooth turf interaction, the sole is designed to mitigate the effects of heavy and thin shots and improve the impact location on the face for greater distance.

VFT Technology
VFT Technology maximizes ball speed & perimeter weighting for more distance and forgiveness; S2H2 increases discretionary weight by removing it from the hosel & repositioning it in the perimeter of the club head; 360-Degree Undercut Channel maximizes perimeter weighting by moving the CG lower & farther back in the club head, enlarging the hitting area & stabilizing the club head for more forgiveness.
Precision Notch Weighting
Precisely positions more weight to the perimeter of the iron to create a higher moment of inertia (MOI) for greater forgiveness and stability while maintaining the centre of gravity position that produces ideal trajectories & feel.
Tour-Inspired Head Shape
Our engineers took elements designed for Tour players, like a thinner top line and narrower sole, and incorporated them into highly forgiving irons with a higher MOI so they can be played by a wide range of golfers.

Edge Technology
The unique shaping of the all-titanium clubheads allowed the engineers to move weight in specific locations to achieve the optimal CG location and ball flights for the Draw or Neutral options with a higher MOI. It also helps close the clubface at impact so golfers can better release the club with power.
